Camarena Health incorporated in 1978 and opened its doors in September of 1980 in a renovated facility with a modest practice of 1,500 medical patients. Over the last 30-plus years Camarena Health have grown to become one of the largest local community-based health care providers, offering both medical and dental services to nearly 25,000 patients in five state of the art facilities.
Camarena Health (CH) came to NIFTIT requesting a tool to ease their human resources management process. NIFTIT developed the Vacation Cash Out Request tool built on SharePoint 2013 that allows CH employees to gain visibility over the time off they’re allowed to and requesting vacation days. Using the SharePoint workflows and forms, the request for each employee will be redirected to their managers for approval. The tracking tool provides the managers with tremendous insights on HR management at a higher (executive) level.
The mission of the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.) is to improve public understanding of insurance—what it does and how it works. For more than 50 years, the I.I.I. has provided definitive insurance information and its efforts are recognized by the media, governments, regulatory organizations, universities and the public as a primary source of information, analysis and referral concerning insurance.
I.I.I. needed an intranet website where they can collaborate and publish documents, videos, and other types of content. NIFTIT delivered a collaborative environment built on top of the SharePoint branding solution content which is aligned with I.I.I branding guidelines. A set of applications were developed to improve internal collaboration such as Documents Library, Message Points, Insurance Issues Update, Media Archive, B Roll Videos, Online Subscriptions, Forms Library, Holiday Schedule, Benefit Information, and many more. NIFTIT also migrated I.I.I. storage from a 30+ GB video gallery to a SharePoint Online with a more advanced search capability.

The NYU Real Estate alumni board came to us with a common problem faced by alumni organizations: how to better facilitate connections and share knowledge among the group members.
NIFTIT developed a custom Rails application that allows alumni to better connect with one another using their LinkedIn accounts. The application creates a destination where alumni members can engage, share, and learn with their peers, as well as broadcast the latest happenings in the community and marketplace. The cost-effective application was built in a timely manner according to the client’s specifications and deadlines.

The Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation (SASF), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is one of the largest providers of school-based after-school programs in New York City and the metropolitan region, serving more than 20,000 students in over 150 public schools. As the largest CBO provider of school-based, extended learning programs in New York City, SASF needed a website as engaging as the programs it provides.
In need of an updated design and CMS, SASF came to NIFTIT looking to modernize the look and feel of their site in order to appeal to students, parents, teachers, donors, and other parties interested in the organization's work. With services provided to over 20,000 of NY's elementary, middle, and high school students each year, SASF wanted to increase the number of images displayed throughout the site to showcase the wide variety of activities provided to the participants of the foundation's many programs. It was important to SASF that their site be mobile-friendly so that busy parents could check events and programs while on the go.
Additionally, the SASF team stressed a need for an editor-friendly CMS that they could easily update to reflect the foundation's most recent happenings. Of particular note is the custom map developed by NIFTIT that allows site visitors to easily search and locate SASF programs by school, location, borough, or grade level.
The Cheeses of Europe’s “Make it Magnifique” campaign required an interactive and informative website to both promote and provide education on European cheese to the American market.
We had to consider several factors: surfacing data based on user geolocation, dynamic content loading via AJAX, and proper scaling of the CMS for future site growth. This drove us towards Drupal 7 and the use of its Views and Location modules.
Interactivity and responsiveness were our main objectives, and jQuery provided the perfect framework for this with its extensive capabilities in animating and responding to user interactions. Partnered with the Bootstrap framework and utilizing the grid system, the site is responsive at all resolutions.
On the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I, The GroundTruth Project founder, Charles Sennott heads an international reporting effort to try to understand the legacy of “the war to ends all war” and how the end of that war becomes known as “the peace to end all peace.”
NIFTIT worked with The GroundTruth Project to create a special report microsite about “the unlearned lessons from WWI” titled The Eleventh Hour. The Eleventh Hour recaps the major events of WWI and lends insight into how these events have affected the modern-day areas in which they took place. An interactive timeline is under development that will provide users with a fun and unique experience for visualizing the war as it occurred between the years of 1914 – 1919.
By creating a platform on top of their existing site, NIFTIT developed a simple yet robust solution that allows the editors to stay in control. This control has provided the editors with a site that adapts to their content rather than content that has to adapt to their site.
